Clean Snow SAE

Do you care about the environmental safety in National Parks? Are you interested in engineering environmentally clean snowmobiles?

If you answered yes to either of those questions then the Clean Snowmobile Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is the perfect student organization for you!

Each year the Clean Snowmobile team takes on the challenge of designing a snowmobile that is acceptable for use in environmentally sensitive areas, such as National Parks.

Clean Snowmobile Challenge (CSC) is primarily an engine competition, with the underlying theme

to remain environmentally clean. This competition takes place in March in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

This six-day competition consists of multiple classes and events. Three classes of snowmobiles are I

nternal Combustion (IC), Zero Emissions (ZE) and Diesel utility (DU). At the completion, teams must go through a series

of technical inspections and tests, in order to determine the best snowmobile.

Clean Snowmobile has four sub teams to join so students can find the team they want to work and learn with, including a calibration team, manufacturing team, exhaust team, and factory team.

The Clean Snowmobile team is a perfect place to learn hands-on experience that will benefit your academic and career path.

Looking to join, attend one of the weekly meetings on Wednesdays at the Student Innovation Center room 2226.
