Letterpress Lab Makerspace

Located In Room 1222

The Letterpress Lab is a creative makerspace where students can explore the art of letterpress printing. In partnership with the College of Design, the space offers hands-on access to traditional presses and type, allowing users to design and print posters, cards, and other paper projects. Open to all skill levels, the Letterpress Lab blends craftsmanship, creativity, and learning through making.

Makerspace Hours

Makerspaces are closed daily for an afternoon meal break and on university holidays. Hours are subject to change.

A collaboration with the College of Design, the Letterpress Lab offers a hands-on experience with the art of letterpress printing and an opportunity to explore the rich history of this timeless art.

Room 1222 is available to reserve. Reserving the space ensures access to equipment and support during your visit.

3 Steps to Using the Makerspace

Complete Online Safety Training

Fill out the form below to specify your project or training request. Upon submission, you’ll receive a Canvas invitation for mandatory EHS safety training that must be finished before accessing the space.

Hands-on Training

Once you’ve completed the online training, register for a Letterpress 101 hands-on training.

Start Creating

After finishing the in-person training, you’re free to utilize the shop for your personal projects, class assignments, and more. Your creative journey begins.

Letterpress Lab Interest & Inquiry Form

Please allow 48 hours for a response or stop by the Makerspace during open hours if you have additional questions. Submitting this form will get you enrolled in the Canvas training course.
