Metal and Wood Shop Makerspace

The Boeing Advanced Fabrication and Assembly Metal and Wood Shop offers an array of tools and resources to unleash your creativity and explore the world of fabrication. Bring your ideas to life with expert supervision and safety precautions in place. The shop is open to all students, faculty, and staff at any skill level.

Makerspaces are closed for an afternoon meal break. Hours are subject to change.

3 Steps to Using the Makerspace

Complete Online Training

Fill out the form below. Upon submission, you’ll receive a Canvas invitation for mandatory EHS safety training that must be finished before registering for hands-on training or accessing the Makerspace.

Hands-On Training

Once you’ve completed the online training, you must complete a hands-on training with the shop supervisor.

Start Creating

After finishing the hands-on training, you will receive a badge for that machine and you may use that equipment for your personal projects, class assignments, prototyping, and more.

 

Submissions must be made at least 48 hours prior to requested reservation time. If you have questions please email sictrwoodmetal@iastate.edu.
