Student Employment Opportunities in the Student Innovation Center Include:
Event Management: The Events team offers a customer-focused student position to assist with building tours, event set-ups, clean-ups, and general support to visitors using the center, perfect for responsible individuals who thrive working independently and with a team and enjoy creating positive experiences for others.
Supply Station: This customer-facing role is perfect for those familiar with the unique making supplies at the Student Innovation Center and passionate about helping others find what they need.
Digital Media Studio: DMS offers a hands-on media production role where student assistants help manage the studio, perform customer service, set up video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment, and shoot photos or videos for social and web content for the Student Innovation Center.
Heavy Metal Makerspace: Room 0235 seeks versatile makerspace assistants to supervise student organizations, assist with machinery setup, maintain equipment, and develop their skills while supporting a safe and innovative workspace for competition-ready projects.
Metal and Wood Makerspace: Room 1211 seeks student assistants who can support machine operation and safety while inspiring creative fabrication for users and pursuing their own collaborative projects.
Electronics, Textiles, and 3D Printing Makerspace: In Room 2222, student workers help maintain and troubleshoot makerspace equipment like laser systems, 3D printers, and textile machines while assisting users with projects and questions and contributing to special projects.
Digital Modeling and Visualization Lab: Room 2261 features state-of-the-art technology that student assistants operate, explore, train users on, and increase awareness of, while also independently managing the space, leading hands-on workshops/demos, and assisting with operations of Audio Visual systems in the Student Innovation Center.
