The Cardinal Space Mining Club (CSMC) at Iowa State University will participate in the 2024 NASA Lunabotics challenge being sponsored by the Astronauts Memorial Foundation’s Space Education Center at the Kennedy Space Center.
The competition challenges university teams to design and build a specialized robot that can operate in a simulated lunar environment. Teams are tasked with constructing a regolith-based berm that would be useful for mission-critical issues on the lunar surface, including but not limited to blast and ejecta protection during landings and launches.
These weekly meetings serve as a time where members can come together to collaborate on the many tasks required to complete this project.
